#32 Theme: "Love the World Anyway"
We are accepting submissions in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, essays, art, and photography. Send us your best work on the following prompt:
Frustration and disappointment with the world and humanity can harden a heart. Still, can you remain open to all the beauty and goodness there is? Do you have a story of another person's kindness that gives you hope? What have you survived with grace? How can awareness of beauty change your world and then the world of others? What makes you smile and shine light even on the darkest days? Is there something you do that makes someone else smile? What do you love?
Thank you to Estee Fleming and Jeremy N. Smith for inspiring this prompt.
Submissions open through May 31, 2026.

#31 - Seeds
Publication April 2026
We are living in a time of great uncertainty. Join us in a hopeful act, planting seeds for new growth through the inspiration of art and literature. For issue #31, Whitefish Review teamed up with Land to Hand Montana and Backpack Assistance to publish art and literary submissions that speak to the hope in a simple seed, a symbol of abundance in a world that often says we don’t have enough.

Whitefish Review prides itself on being accessible to the entire community of writers, artists, and readers that we serve. Our nonprofit organization has implemented a $5 administrative fee to help offset, in part, some of the expenses incurred in producing a literary and arts journal. This project is a challenge to pull off, a "doomed, beautiful venture." We still aspire to be as inclusive as possible. If the $5 administrative fee prohibits you from submitting your work, please email editor@whitefishreview.orgwith a brief explanation of your circumstance and we will waive the fee.---
If you have a couple extra bucks, please purchase a copy or become a subscriber and help keep this beautiful venture afloat.
FUNDRAISING
Whitefish Review accepts tax-deductible donations to keep our beautiful adventure afloat.
